Painting Paneling
DIRECTIONS
STEP 1
Clean all surfaces with a clean rag saturated with paint thinner to remove surface contamination. If surface contamination is excessive, a second wash with mineral spirits may be required. Rinse rag between applications and be sure to discard rag properly.
STEP 2
To be sure you have removed all traces of surface contamination and paint thinner residue, wash the surface with a 50/50 mixture of household ammonia and water. Allow the clean surface to dry for 30 minutes.
STEP 3
Apply one coat of B-I-N Shellac-Base Primer with a roller, brush, pad or sprayer, and let dry for one hour. If high humidity conditions exist, allow longer to make sure the primer has dried thoroughly before applying a topcoat.
STEP 4
Apply one or two coats of topcoat paint.

Tip: You can have the primer tinted by your retailer to match the color of the topcoat, which can help reduce the number of coats needed to complete the project.
